Using a sample of game data from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts (courtesy of our partnership with GameInsights), we track the number of debut players of every PS5 and PS4 game coming to PS Plus Extra. This includes Police Simulator Patrol Officerswhich joined the subscription scheme as part of the June 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium line-up.
Originally released for PS5 and PS4 in November 2022, Police Simulator Patrol Officers is pretty much what it sounds like – a game that lets you play as a cop on a patrol beat. From busting drug dealers to catching drunk drivers, Police Simulator keeps you busy with the multitude of interactions you can have with victims and criminals.
In its debut week on Sony’s subscription scheme, Police Simulator Patrol Officers topped Monster Hunter Rise’s PS Plus player count with 61.98%. This feat does Police Simulator the biggest PS Plus Extra game for June 2024.
Plus, Police Simulator‘s debut was so popular that it even topped the May 2024 PS Plus player count Red Dead Redemption 2 BY 29.78%. This makes it the second biggest PS Plus Extra game of 2024, falling just short of PS Plus Extra’s Dave the Diver and its monstrous player count of 26.48%.

I don’t know about you, but I find it pretty appealing that more PS Plus subscribers were drawn to watch Police Simulator than a more established game like Rise of the Monster Hunter.
I suppose the ‘imitation’ gaming genre has given us some really great PS5 and PS4 games over the years. We’ve had great titles like Powerwash simulator, Farming Simulator, Bee simulator – and, of course, unstoppable Goat simulator.
That said, these simulator games also tend to fluctuate wildly in quality, and it can be hard to tell the good from the bad. In this case, it helps that PS Plus Extra helps PS5 and PS4 gamers single out the good ones – making the list, the game quietly gets a nod of approval from Sony.
In honor of the game, Police Simulator it’s really a good time. It does a good job of translating police work into the game and comes with many different crimes to stop. So while it might have surprised us by getting so much attention, it might actually be one of the best PS Plus games in the PS Plus Extra catalog.
