EE has started a brand new broadband package designed for video game lovers. It includes some of the fastest home broadband speeds available today – regularly exceeding 1600Mbps, a next-generation Wi-Fi router with a dedicated gaming mode and 24 months Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription worth over £300.

dubbed EE Broadband designed for gamers, the package offers several features designed to appeal to gamers who favor reliable, lightning-fast download speeds and low latency above all. With download speeds of 1.6Gbps, the average blockbuster game update (20GB) can be downloaded in less than two minutes compared to around 40 minutes with the average UK broadband speed of 69Mbps.

EE has fine-tuned performance to suit gamers’ needs, with overall latency reduced by over a third compared to standard home broadband plans.

With Xbox Game Pass Ultimateyou will be able to play hundreds of games — such as Minecraft, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Dead Space — on your Windows PC, Mac, Xbox console, iPad, Android phone and tablet, and in the coming days, Fire TV Stick too.

To make sure you have good Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, EE Broadband Made for Gamers comes with the company’s Smart Wi-Fi guarantee. This is designed to boost your wireless signal so that ANY corner of your home is covered with your full fiber internet connection. If not, you’ll get £100 back from EE straight away.

EE will ship its most advanced Wi-Fi router to those who sign up for this gamer-focused bundle. Called the EE Smart Hub Plus, it has support for the newer Wi-Fi 6 standard that offers a much wider bandwidth than Wi-Fi 5. The latter is the best wireless standard available in routers with BT broadband. The Smart Hub Plus can connect up to 190 devices at any one time, which should be enough for the busiest households.

The Wi-Fi router is equipped with a dedicated gaming mode with some additional benefits. This includes:

  • Geo Filter | This advanced setting selects the highest quality servers — opt out any that have increased latency to ensure you always have the best possible experience when playing online and streaming titles
  • Ping Optimizer | Fine-tune your connection to reduce buffering when playing games — this cool feature will reduce server ping by up to 24%, tests conducted by Netduma developers show
